LONE PINE INDIAN CEMETERY
Indian Cemetery Road
Lone Pine, California

This cemetery lies at the mouth of a narrow canyon in the Alabama Hills, east of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and west of Lone Pine.

This cemetery, unlike many tidier ones with clipped lawns, allows loved ones to leave offerings and to decorate graves, so the living can grieve and honor the departed in their own way and in their own time.

Many graves are marked only by a mound of dirt and a few rocks and others have a simple cross with no name.
